A doctor's referral is required to access a Medicare rebate on consultations with our specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. An appropriate level of private health coverage is desirable for patients undergoing hospital-based treatments. Southside ob-gyn can provide private fee estimates for patients considering hospital admission and treatments without private insurance.
A referral is not required to access Medicare rebates for our Women's health general practitioner.

Private health insurance ‘extras’ plans generally provide rebates towards consultations with allied health practitioners, including dieticians, psychologists and physiotherapists. Alternatively, some patients may be eligible for Medicare rebates for allied health consultations via individual health care plans. Eligibility can be discussed with your regular GP.
